Confirming that you own your website adds your profile picture to any Pin that came from your site. You’ll also get access to website analytics so you can see what people are saving from your website. To confirm, you need to be able to edit your website's HTML code.

To confirm your site, you'll use a meta tag.

Step 1: Get the meta tag

  1. For business accounts, click your profile icon on the top right-hand screen of Pinterest. For personal accounts, click on the 3 dots in the right-hand corner.
  2. From the drown-down menu, click Settings
  3. On the Account Basics screen, scroll down until you see the Claim Website section. PV-2.png

  4. Enter your domain URL and click Claim Website.

Step 3: Finish setting up

Troubleshooting FAQ from Pinterest's Help Center

Q: Why can't I confirm my website?

Right now, you can confirm your site for top-level domains like  www.example.com. If your website looks like www.example.com/example, it isn't a top-level domain.

Q: Can I remove the HTML file after I'm done setting up?

Yes, after you're done confirming, you can remove the file or tag. Keep in mind that making changes to your website in your Pinterest settings means you'll lose the confirmation and have to confirm again.

Q: Can I confirm my website on more than one account?

No, if you already confirmed your website on one account and you’d like it for another, you’ll have to remove your website from the first account first. Then you’ll need to go through the setup steps again on the new Pinterest account.
